I remember being a little girl and thinking when I reached 40 I’d be so over-the-hill that I wouldn’t care what I looked like. Ahem, now that I’ve reached way over THAT age, I’ve changed my mind on that childhood thought and enjoying life more than ever. So too, are these fabulous celebrities who have reached the half century mark. Including Tom Cruise, Jodie Foster, Sean Penn, Jamie Lee Curtis, Heather Locklear and Sheryl Crow.
One of my good friends, Renee Eaves, was chatting to me last night about her jungle ordeal when she agreed to be part of “I’m a celebrity get me out of here“. Hats off to you Renee, you wouldn’t get me doing any of that stuff. All will be revealed in future posts on this blog….from what I heard of the upcoming episodes it wasn’t pretty at all.

Each year, some 70,000 young adults between the ages of 15 and 39 are diagnosed with cancer. And cancer does not discriminate, it can choose anyone, even celebrities – and you or someone you love.
For those celebrities who go public with their very personal journey they help give hope to the thousands of cancer sufferers around the world.
In a recent article in the Huffington post, 10 Celebs open up about their journey, including my favourite fighter, Diem Brown.
Others who have survived this insidious disease are Christina Applegate, Anthony Ryan Auld, Marissa Jaret Winokur, Ethan Zohn, Giuliana Rancic, Will Reiser, Ryan Buell, Michael C. Hall, and our own Australian, Kylie Minogue.

Sharon Stone had an NDE when she suffered a brain hemorrhage: When interviewed by Katie Couric Sharon explained:
“When it hit me I felt like I’d been shot in the head. That’s the only way I can really describe it. It hit me so hard it knocked me over on the sofa. And Phil was out of town and I called him and said, “I think I had a stroke.” But in all fairness, I’m a person who’s always saying, “I think I’ve had a stroke, I think I’ve had a heart attack, I think I’ve had a brain hemorrhage … I had a real journey with this that took me to places both here and beyond that affected me so profoundly that my life will never be the same … I get to be not afraid of dying and I get to tell other people that it’s a fabulous thing and that death is a gift. And not that you should kill yourself, but that when death comes to you, as it will, that it’s a glorious and beautiful thing. This kind of giant vortex of white light was upon me and I kind of – poof! Sort of took off into this glorious, bright, bright, bright white light and I started to see and be met by some of my friends. But it was very fast – whoosh! Suddenly, I was back. I was in my body and I was in the room.”
The late, Larry Hagman underwent a liver transplant in 1995 as a result of heavy drinking and during this time had an NDE.
“I was able to look over the edge. I got a little glimpse of what was the next step. I didn’t see a light some people see, but I had a wonderful feeling of bliss and warmth. The bottom line is love, that sounds corny, but it was just lovely, uplifting.
Donald Sutherland had a NDE in 1979 as a result of Meningitis. “Suddenly the pain, fever and acute distress seemed to evaporate. I was floating above my body, surrounded by soft blue light. I began to glide down a long tunnel, away from the bed … but suddenly I found myself back in my body. The doctors told me later that I had actually died for a time.”
The late Elizabeth Taylor In an interview with America’s AIDS magazine, Liz described her NDE again: “I went to that tunnel, saw the white light, and Mike [Todd]. I said, Oh Mike, you’re where I want to be. And he said, ‘No, Baby. You have to turn around and go back because there is something very important for you to do. You cannot give up now.’ It was Mike’s strength and love that brought me back.”
Ozzy Osbourne had a brush with death after he hit a pothole while riding a bike. He was thrown over the handlebars and subsequently fell down a hill – the bike came down on top of him and crushed his chest. Luckily for Ozzy, his security guard rushed to his side and tried to revive him – Ozzy stopped breathing twice and spent 8 days in a coma. He described the accident: “If it wasn’t for Sam I probably wouldn’t be here. He had to bring me back to life twice. I didn’t know where I was or how long I’d been there. I would drift in and out of consciousness. Other times there would be a white light shining through the darkness, but no f—king angels, no one blowing trumpets and no man in a white beard.”
Ozzy credits the crash with helping him to quit drugs and straighten up his life: “You are bopping along through life and have your ups and downs, but it is amazing how two or three seconds can totally change your life.

Apparently Lady Gaga has a ghost called Ryan who has been hanging around her. Gaga has even had the ghostbusters in to try and give Ryan a little encouragement to move on. I’m still trying to establish if the ghost was actually more scared of Gaga or Gaga more scared of Ryan? Just joking she really is legend!
Matthew McConaughey has said he was visited by a ghost he named Madame Blue. Matthew apparently likes to walk around the house naked and was quoted as saying ”She’s a cool ghost. Maybe me being nude all the time is why we get along!” Ummm yes Matthew that would do it! I know who I’ll be haunting when I move over to the next world.
Kate Hudson says she has seen ghosts plenty of times and the most frightening one was a ghost of a woman with no face.
As a boy, Keanu Reeves has said that when he was living in New Jersey he had seen and felt a ghost “I remember just staring at this suit, which had no body or legs in it as it came into the room before disappearing. It was a double-breasted suit in white, and I looked at my nanny, who was just as shocked as me. I just couldn’t get back to sleep afterwards, and I still see the figure in my dreams and nightmares”, Reeves said.
Joan Rivers went into her apartment once and found pornographic writings and markings on the walls, and her dog refused to enter. She discovered the apartment was haunted by a ghost called Mrs Spencer . Rivers called a voodoo priestess to exorcise Mrs. Spencer. Mrs Spencer must have really liked Joan because she returned and has stayed for nearly 20 years. “It’s comforting,” Rivers say. “I

Paul McCartney – said that he, George Harrison and Ringo Starr sensed the playful spirit of John Lennon in 1995 when they were recording Lennon’s song, Free As A Bird “There were a lot of strange goings-on in the studio – noises that shouldn’t have been there and equipment doing all manner of weird things. Sharon Osborne, wife of a rock star has admitted that she has gone too far with plastic surgery and has declared she is hanging up the cosmetic surgery towel for good
Reality TV star, Big Ang from the series MOB Wives and owns the “Drunken Monkey Bar” in Staten Island, New York, is so addicted to plastic surgery that she almost needs a hoist to keep her massive boobs upright!

Spanish Royal, the Duchess of Alba, who is the possessor of more aristocratic titles than anyone else in the world has had so much plastic surgery that she looks positively scary! Seriously scary…I have to have a glass of champers to get the courage up just to look at these pics.

Rumour has that the make up artist to the stars, Napoleon Perdis, will be doing some inspections of his Sydney stores on 14th November. No doubt the stores all be spotless for the visit. Maybe I should head down to one of the stores and get some tips for my make up for the red carpet opening of the Zebra bar that night. 
Coco, Wife of Rapper and Actor ICE T, braved Super storm Sandy on her balcony to record a video of herself which she posted on YouTube. Coco, an outrageous exhibitionist, loves to show off her physical assets at every opportunity. There was no hurricane going to stop her missing out on this opportunity to record her own wet t-shirt video.
Rosie O’Donnell tweeted photos of her damaged property after the storm and remained upbeat stating that ‘all is fixable’.
Donnie Wahlberg shared video footage of his flooded apartment building during the storm.
Katie Holmes had to evacuate from her downtown Manhattan apartment, as did Alex Baldwin.
Jon Bon Jovi flew home from the UK to visit his hometown in New Jersey to comfort people who had lost their homes and to perform at the Hurricane Sandy Coming Together Benefit.
Diem Brown, wrote her blog for People magazine at an Upper Manhattan Starbucks. Diem, who is battling ovarian cancer for the second time blogged about her reaction to the ‘trolls’ who are trying to provoke her as she is undergoing her cancer treatment. I’m looking forward to attending the Zebra Lounge opening in Sydney on the 14th November. Zebra Lounge has been fitted out with New York style originality, a funky-as-hell lounge bar blessed with some of the best water frontage in town and, on some nights, the kind of soul music Sydney likes to listen to. It is the place to be at the end of the day, chilled out, soaking up a summer sunset with an ice cold beer or crisp Australian wine in hand and the buzz of good conversation all around.
