Rumors of an “open marriage” concerning Will Smith and his  wife, Jada Pinkett-Smith have been circulating for years.  Here is what Jada has to say about it in a recent statement.

“Do we believe loving someone means owning them? Do we believe that ownership is the reason someone should ‘behave’? Do we believe that all the expectations, conditions and underlying threats of ‘you better act right or else’ keep one honest and true?”

“Here is how I will change my statement… Will and I BOTH can do WHATEVER we want, because we TRUST each other to do so. This does NOT mean we have an open relationship… this means we have a GROWN one,” then signed off with a simple, “Siempre, J.”

Hmmm…fuel for more rumours if you ask me.

It seems no expense is spared for some celebrities who have tied the knot.  It also seems a lot of the money spent went down the drain as marriages crumbled.  Here are a few notable weddings and their associated costs.

Kate Middleton and Prince William — This one was a steal at just $34 million with $800,000 of that spent on flowers. Kate’s dress was estimated to cost around $400,000. A major cost to the British taxpayer was for the security involved with the wedding.

Liza Minelli and David Gest — Spent $4.2 million dollars for their special day and invited more than 1,000 guests to the event. One of the expenses was Liza’s $45,000 Bob Mackey gown. The couple split up just one year later!

Elton John and David Furnish — Spent $1.5 million on their 2005 wedding and invited 600 of their closest friends for the celebration which was held at their Windsor mansion.

David and Victoria BeckhamPosh spice spent $800,000 on their special day. Posh wore a Vera Wang silk gown with a 20-foot train estimated to have cost around $100,000. Only 250 were invited to the wedding which included a special performance by Elton John.

Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston – Spent around $1 million when they wed in July 2000 on the Malibu estate of TV producer Marcy Carsey.  Jen wore a Lawrence Steele floor-length white gown, accessorized by suede Manolo Blahnik sandals. Candles illuminated the reception tent and 50,000 flowers created a Zen garden. The night ended with a fireworks display and the marriage ended in 2005.

And the winner is…….

Chilliy Pasternak and Baby Hope Diamond — they’re dogs! They married in July 2012 and claim the Guinness Book Of World Records for most expensive dog wedding, which cost $158,187.  The “wedding” was a fundraiser for the Human Society of New York.

Michael Jordan used visualization to become the greatest basketball player in history.

Oprah: Has always used visualization and has often talked about Vision Boards on her show.

Australian Volley Ball Olympian’s, Kerri Pottharst and Natalie Cooke were coached by Actor and Stuntman, Kurek Ashley for 18 months prior to them winning an Olympic Gold Medal.  Kurek would help the girls to visualize and act as if they already had won the medal.

Scientology addresses the spirit—not the body or mind—and believes that Man is far more than a product of his environment, or his genes.

John Travolta started to practice Scientology in 1975 after reading the book “Dianetics” whilst on the set of “The Devil’s Rain”.  His wife Kelly Preston also practices scientology and said it helped her deal with her son, Jett’s death.

We all know that Tom Cruise is a prominent member of the Church and was introduced by his then wife,  Mimi, Rogers in 1990.

“Dharma & Greg” star Jenna Elfman was introduced to the religion by her husband. She was formally a Catholic.

Actress and singer Juliette Lewis, was born into Scientology.

Actor Danny Masterson was also born into Scientology. He once said: “I’d be a flaming crackhead if I didn’t study Scientology.”

Kirstie Alley  credited the religion for helping her end her cocaine addiction through a Scientology-affiliated drug rehabilitation program.

James Packer was introduced to Scientology through his friend Tom Cruise, however distanced himself from the Church a number of years ago.

Before Jim Carrey was rich and famous he carried a cheque in his wallet that he wrote to himself for 10 million dollars for “acting services rendered”.  Jim postdated the cheque for 1995 and visualized what he would buy with it. By 1995 Jim was wealthy enough to cash the cheque but never did.

Will Smith has always talked about his positive attitude and his connection to the Universe. “Our thoughts, our feelings, our ideas, are physical in the Universe. If we dream something, if we picture something, if we commit ourselves to it … then that is a physical thrust to realization that we can put into the Universe.” – Will Smith

It’s no secret that Oprah is a fan of the “Law of Attraction” however she prefers not to use the term. She encourages people to visualize their dreams. In a 2007 interview, Oprah told talk show host Larry King, “You really can change your own reality based on the way that you think.”

And to finish this post I have some great advice from financial guru Suze Orman. Suze started out with no money, and felt unworthy so she changed her thinking. Her affirmation is, “I have more money than I will ever need”. She has told people to repeat that mantra (or one of their own) over and over again until they believe it to be true.  Suze also teaches that to attract money you have to respect money and one tip is to keep your wallets clean and place bills neatly inside and in order.
