I’m  looking forward to attending the Zebra Lounge opening in Sydney on the 14th November. The Zebra Lounge will be officially launched with a flourish of celebrity hype from 6pm – 10pm on Wednesday 14th November and with so many photogenic guests turning up for the launch and stars who love to party, no doubt it will be a paparazzi frenzy.

Well-known restaurateur, Craig Jarman is about to launch his new Zebra Lounge and put out the welcome mat for the smart set. Handily located at No 1 Harris Street Pyrmont and currently operated by Craig Jarman as Savichees the re-born Zebra Lounge is already becoming a mecca for hard-working locals from the various ad agencies, fashion boutiques and offices around the stylish Pyrmont waterfront as well as being a regular place to be seen by nearby TV and Radio personalities.

Zebra Lounge has been fitted out with New York style originality, a funky-as-hell lounge bar blessed with some of the best water frontage in town and, on some nights, the kind of soul music Sydney likes to listen to. It is the place to be at the end of the day, chilled out, soaking up a summer sunset with an ice cold beer or crisp Australian wine in hand and the buzz of good conversation all around.

It sounds fabulous and I’ll  be there with my eyes wide open and ears listening to bring back all the latest in Sydney’s Celebrity news.

It can strike at any time and it doesn’t care whether you are a celebrity or not! Cancer can come knocking on the door.  This is the second post on  this blog recently about celebrity cancer fighters, and congratulations to Sally Obermeder, Today Tonight reporter beating her battle with the BIG C! Sally was diagnosed with stage three breast cancer a day before the birth of her first child Annabelle last October.

Following 12 months of horrendous treatment, Sally has been told she is clear of cancer the day before her baby’s birthday.

Congratulations Sally…..only upwards from here!

I took the “Honey” out of Honey Boo Boo Child in the heading because there is nothing ‘honey’ about this behaviour. Judge for yourself! Maybe I’m stuck in the dark ages but I liked it when children were well behaved and polite.

I have been following the story of Diem Brown for some time now, and was sad to hear she was facing her battle with Ovarian Cancer for the second time.  This young woman has captured my heart with her braveness and acceptance of her condition.  Diem’s wish is to help patients who are sick by providing them with help and support (see below background courtesy of  www.medgift.com).

Diem recently filmed her second experience with losing her hair from chemo and a link is posted below if you want to watch the video (very sad). You are one brave lady Diem and I wish you a speedy recovery.

YOU GO GIRL! What an inspiration

Background: Diem Brown was diagnosed with ovarian cancer at 23, an age that most people associate with fun, freedom and possibilities. She had long aspired to be a TV reporter, and in addition to attaining a freelance job with the Associated Press, Diem was selected for the MTV reality show Real World/Road Rules Challenge.

Diem was determined not to let cancer stop her from achieving her career goals and living her life to the fullest. A month after having one ovary, several lymph nodes and part of one fallopian tube removed, she traveled to Australia to participate in Real World/Road Rules Challenge. When the show was over, though, she returned home to face the many realities of coping with cancer, including intensive chemotherapy treatments.

Many people reached out and wanted to help. And Diem, who had always been very independent, realized that she did indeed need their help. But when friends and family asked what they could do, it was difficult to say, “Yes, I need a ride to my chemotherapy appointment,” or harder yet, “Yes, I need help paying my medical bills.”

MedGift was created to help answer the question friends and family members often ask in this situation: “What can I do?” or “How can I help?” It allows people coping with illness or health conditions to post requests for help in the form of Needs, Wants and Wishes while also providing a place to give updates, post photos, keep a blog and communicate with loved ones.

Which 60-something  singer/actress has been having too many cocktails or anti-anxiety tablets and Gin and Tonics that she recently forgot the words to Happy Birthday when she attempted to sing it at a friend’s party?

Jessica Simpson

Beyonce keeps her figure by eating lots of green vegetables and has a ‘no go list’ of red meat, bread and alcohol.

Maria Carey keeps her figure by eating mostly soups and fish.

Jessica Simpson has been working on her post pregnancy body and recently showed off her new toned legs.  Jessica has been working out with  celebrity trainer Harley Pasternak  45 minutes, four  times a week.

Jennifer Lopez eats minimum carbs, drinks lots of ice cold water and eats everything in moderation. She also doesn’t drink alcohol and keeps fit with exercise and yoga.

Courtney Cox is apparently a fan of the Blood Type diet, is a great fan of exercise and keeps carbs to a minimum.

If Angelina Jolie needs to lose some weight she eats steamed seabass or steamed beef and vegetables, has no sugar and drinks only soy milk.

Elizabeth Hurley is strict with portion control and eats grilled fish, wild rice and steamed vegetables.

It’s reported that singer, Adele has given birth to a baby boy. There has been no ‘official’ announcement as yet but according to a source Adele and Simon are reported to be delighted to be parents.  No doubt we will hear more about it soon.

I’ve resisted blogging about Honey Boo Boo Child because I find the whole thing so utterly….how do I say this politely….actually I can’t I because I think it’s…. appalling!  In Australia you can’t even be mum and attend your child’s primary school as a volunteer unless you have a security check to guard children from exploitation. Yet, here is a child made to look provactive  and clearly has a lot of issues…but hey judge for yourself!  Child exploitation? Give me your vote after the pics and videos below.
